Sea Challenge Fyn 2010 has come to an end, and it has been a fantastic one. We hope to see you all again next year.
They're rowing like H... (07.08.10, 1.25 pm)
The first five boats are over the finishing line, and no. 1, 3 and 4 are inriggers. It has never happened before that three of he first four boats have been inriggers, and beside that they are breaking all records for this stage, too.
First rowers in Skaarup Sound (07.08.10, 1 pm)
The first three inriggers and two kayaks went into Skaarup Sound 15 minutes ago, which means they can be expected in Svendborg app. 1.45 pm.
Ready for last round (07.08.10, 9.30 am)
The sun is shining, some bicycle race takes up most of the space in Nyborg, and we have just taken a family photo of the tough rowers in Sea Challenge Fyn. We are starting a 10.15, when the mayor has sent the bicyclers in Post Danmark Rundt out on the roads, and made space for a really important kind of sport.

First rower on the beach (06.08.10, 2.20 pm)
A app. 2 pm the first rower crossed he finishing line at Funens Bathing Beach at Nyborg. The lukcy rower was Peter M. Nielsen from Skovshoved Rowing Club and he was soon followed by others.
Happy Birthday, Finn (06.08.10, 12.50 pm)
Some people know what is good. Finn Pedersen from Troense Kayak Club is celebrating his birthday with an individual time trial in Sea Challenge Fyn. Finn has just set out on the beatifull, 20 km "short" trip to Nyborg. Congratulations, Finn - according to the gods of the weather, you have been a nice boy in the past year.
Well off to Nyborg (06.08.10, 12.35 pm)
First half of the rowers is off from the marina in Kerteminde. A bit of wind, no waves and maybe a little current against the direction promises a beatifull trip. The first rower is expected at the beach in Nyborg at app. 2 pm.

Last check point deleted (05.08.10, 6.30 pm)
The last check point has been deleted after the last rower passed by at 5.50 pm. This means, that he can be expected in Kerteminde within an hour.
Today's stage was once again won by Bjoern Amundsen, who broke all records and rowed he 81 km from Bogense to Kerteminde in faboulous 7.37.26. Maybe we should chechk his paddle for helping motors
First rower over the line in Bregnoer (05.08.10, 2.10 pm)
Shortly before 1 pm he first rower passed the line in Bregnoer, the end station of this day's short stage of 40 km. Winner of this stage is Peter M. Nielsen who spend 4 hours, 54 minutes and 9 seconds on the water before he could climb out of the kayak and go on land.
Last rower past check point 3 (05.08.10, 1.55 pm)
The last rower on the long stage, 81 km from Bogense to Kerteminde, has passed check point 3 in Dalby Bay. If he holds the speed, he will pass the finishing line in Kerteminde at app. 8 pm.
Funen's Head conquered (05.08.10, 1 pm)
Bjoern Amundsen rowed past check point 4 at Funen's Head at 12.16 pm, closely followed by Flemming Groenborg at 12.26 pm. Jen Seremet who has been among the first rowers on the other stages, unfortunately had to resign earlier with a sore back. Expected arrival a Kerteminde for the first rowers is app. 3.30 pm.
Trouble shooting at The King's Stage (05.08.10, 12.10 pm)
The first rower, Bjoern Amundsen in kayak no. 29 (surprise!), passed check point no. 2 at 11.06 am.
And wha do you do, when you're rowing a double kayak, and your rowing pal have to retire from he race? The simple solution would be to retire together, but that is too easy for a Sea Challenger. No, you borrow a single kayak from one of he oher retired rowers and continue with a new number! A least that was the scenario at the compulsory break earlier today.
A Persistent Rower
Markus Baudisch is participating in Sea Challenge Fyn for the third year in a row. The small German rows against himself and enjoys the physical challenge.

A quiet, misty morning (05.08.10, 6.50 am)
This morning the rowers are preparing for The King's Stage. The weather forecast promises a relatively quiet day, only a bit windy for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Right now it is chilly, and a misty sun promises a nice first half of the day.
In a few minutes the rowers who are going on the long disance all the way to Kerteminde, will start, while the rowers taking the short route, finishing after 45 km in Bregnoer, will start at 8 am.
